About Drew Thomas
Drew Thomas is a 1965 graduate of Slippery Rock State College and a retired World Cultures teacher and swim coach from the Penn Hills School District. Drew came to Christian Camping with 25 years experience in Boy Scout Camping. Drew is an Eagle Scout and was the Camp Director of Camp Twin Echo in New Florence, PA and Camp Aliquippa in Champion, PA for the Boy Scouts of America. Drew has served as a scoutmaster at Beulah Presbyterian Church in Churchill. Drew is a graduate of The National Camping School of the Boy Scouts of America. He is starting his 20th year at Jumonville where he has deaned 23 camps. Drew is a teacher in The Indiana District School of Lay Ministries and is a member of CRM on the conference level. Drew plays bass guitar in a Christian Band called the Eldertones and is the Ad Council Chairman at his local church and chairman of the SPRC for the five point Charge for Christ. Drew is employed as a Job Coach for people with disabilities at ICW Vocational Services of Indiana County. Drew is most proud of being a member of the Jumonville Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Christian Camp and Conference Association. Drew is dedicated to Christian camping where he has found a home and family. Drew is married with four children and three grandchildren who are a blessing from God! He and wife Linda live on their horse farm in Indiana PA. Drew works with family friend Beverly Piper at Jumonville and says any success he has achieved is in direct proportion to the efforts of Beverly!
About Beverly Piper
Beverly has been co-dean with friend and brother in Christ, Drew Thomas, at Jumonville summer camp for 20 years (Swim Camp and now Summer's Last Blast). At her Church she teaches Sunday School and Womens Bible Study and sings in the choir. She plays the guitar (love those camp songs !). Her favorite book after the Bible is Oswald Chambers' My Utmost for His Highest. She loves to read, teach, sing and talk about Jesus and get kids to camp to meet Him. She sponsors a Compassion child in Ecuador. Bev was inspired in her camp ministry and faith journey by friend and Pastor John W. Walker. She has been employed for 36 years at Beckwith/Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co. Bev is daily amazed by and thankful for God's blessings of grace, joy, awesome friends and adventure in her life.
