Rev. Steve Morse

Rev. W. Stephen Morse (Pastor Steve) came to Jumonville as a camper in the summer of 1973.  During that week of Folk Music Camp Steve gave his heart to Jesus and felt the call to ministry.  He graduated from IUP with a degree in Music (Vocal Performance) and from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity.  Now in his 30th year of pastoral ministry, Steve serves as Senior Pastor of the Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth, PA.  Steve served the Annual Conference as Coordinator of Worship for 11 years and now directs the Conference Ministers Chorus.  When meeting new folks Steve shares that he would rather be called ‘Pastor’ than ‘Rev.’ because, for him, Rev. denotes a position and Pastor is a relationship.  He much prefers a relationship than a position.  Pastor Steve counts it a privilege to serve on the Jumonville Board because his call to ministry was received and confirmed here.
