Sports & Recreation
Playground
Our playground gets good use in the summer camping program and is also available for your retreat group, weather permitting. It is popular with “Kids of all ages.” The playground was rebuilt several years ago after raising funds to replace the old wooden playground with a newer, safer, and more accessible playground.
Fit Trail
Jumonville received a very generous grant in 2015 from the Fayette County Tourism Grant Program to install a 10 station fit trail on the hiking trails in the Green Cathedral area of our campus. We are very grateful for their support and anxious to get more guests out and about exploring our trails and getting fit…
Angry Birds
Bring your angry birds game to 3-D life. This fun new camp games has been use for the last several years and combines “stuffed” angry birds & pigs, cardboard boxes, and a water ballon launcher. Let the fun begin when you start to launch the angry birds at the pigs. Warning… you have to provide your…
Golf
Want to learn to improve your golf game? Come to golf camp to learn how to improve your grip, swing, and stance. While Jumonville doesn’t have its own course, we have a number to choose from in the surrounding communities. There are two options for golfers this year. Golf Camp / Golf Fundraiser
Disc Golf
A year-round favorite is Jumonville’s 18 hole disc golf course. Our 9 hole course was just expanded in the late spring of 2014 to a full 18 hole course with official disc golf baskets thanks to a grant form the Fayette County Tourism Grant. Count the number of strokes (or throws) that it takes you…
Fishing
Come to camp and you can learn to fish. (And I’m not talking just about fishing for animals with gills.) God calls us all to be “fishers of men.” When you spend a week at camp you can sharpen your skills as a fisherman in both the physical and spiritual realm. Campers travel off-site to…
Baseball Softball
Our baseball/softball field gets good use in the summer camping program and is also available for your retreat group weather permitting.
Sledriding
Jumonville offers sled riding hills and trails of varying difficulty. Don’t forget your sled, snowboard, or cross country skiis if your going to be here for a winter retreat. You are welcome to bring your own sleds, skiis or snowboards to your winter retreat, as Jumonville does not provide any of this equipment.
Tennis
Four tennis courts are available for use by your group, weather permitting. A limited amount of tennis equipment can be checked out (borrowed) from the Jumonville Office by our guests.
Wrist Rockets
Wrist Rockets are like “sling shots.” However, we put a neat twist on it and shoot dog food rather than stones so it is much safer and the dog food is biodegradable. A fun activity with our own targets that let you know by the sounds if you hit the target.
Soccer
Learn how to “dribble” and “head” the ball at soccer camp or at sports camp this summer. A number of other camps also play soccer as part of their week’s activities.
Tire Swing
Tire Swing The tire swing is a favorite of all ages. Who doesn’t enjoy a turn on the tire swing.
